Session
Large companies use automation to reduce repetitive work, improve reliability, and help teams move faster. Many of the same ideas can be just as valuable for solo developers and small indie teams—without bringing along the complexity and bureaucracy of a large organization.
This talk explores how automated builds, reusable development environments, continuous integration, testing, packaging, and versioned releases can increase development velocity and make ambitious projects more sustainable.
Using the multiple open-source Godot projects I maintain as a real-world case study, I will show how automation makes it possible for one developer to support several platforms, dependencies, and release workflows at a scale that would be unrealistic to manage manually.
